All UK visa applications at Dar es Salaam, must be done by submitting an online application

Online application procedure

Complete an online application by simply following the instructions. Your own choice of date will help you secure an appointment to visit the British High Commission in person (normally within an average time of one month).

Please note that non-online applicants may not submit applications at the High Commission on Fridays.

 

What do I need to make my application?

You will need:

• Your on-line visa application form which you have filled in correctly
• Your valid passport or travel document plus any previous passports
• Two recent, passport-sized (45mm x 35mm), colour photographs. The photographs should be:
  • Taken against a light coloured (white, off-white etc.) background
  • Clear and of good quality and not framed or backed
  • Printed on normal photographic paper and
  • Full face without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless for cultural or religious reasons
    Please note that we may not accept photographs which do not meet these specifications.
• The visa fee. This cannot be refunded and you must normally pay it in the local currency where you are applying
• Any supporting documents relevant to your application as suggested in the guidance notes

Please ensure you provide photocopies of all original documents that you would like returned to you – including your passport. The British High Commission will retain any original documents for which you do not provide a copy. We will not photocopy documents on your behalf.

Please make sure that:

• You have answered clearly all of the required questions on the form(s)
• Signed and dated the form(s) where asked
• Any supporting documents you show are originals or attested copies plus one photocopy of  each document submitted
• You make your application at least six weeks before you intend to travel and not normally more than 3 months before you plan to travel unless you are applying for settlement
• You fill out separate application forms for all children travelling including those in the parents' passport

Collection of visa decisions

When you lodge your application, you will be given be a date on which your decision should be available and we will contact you if this changes if we need to make any further enquiries.  You can collect your decision Monday to Thursday 14.00– 15.00. Note: No collection on Fridays
